On an entirely different note...I entered some photos into the photography competition at the Ozark Empire Fair. I got 3rd place in the "cats and dogs" category for this photo of Geordie (I do love this handsome, sweet boy!!!):
3rd place in the "other animals" category for this photo of a tiger at the Tulsa Zoo:

and 3rd place in the "nature/sky" category for this photo of the sunset over Tablerock Lake:

Last weekend we discovered that a sunflower seed from the birdfeeder fell into one of our pots and now we have a sunflower growing! Kylie was soooo excited about this and insisted I take her picture with the sunflower...
Then we were even more excited when we discovered a teeny tiny praying mantis was hanging out on the sunflower! I tried to get some pics of him, but they didn’t come out very well...
I need a macro lens (hint, hint to anyone with about $500 extra to spare...)!!!

I actually went to Nathanael Greene park on a photo shoot last weekend. Haven't done that in a while. It was really hot and humid, and a lot of the flowers weren't blooming, but I did manage to get a couple shots of butterflies.
This is a Snout Butterfly:
This is a Red-spotted Purple:
A few nights ago the kids and I pulled out the sofa bed downstairs. They decided we should all sleep on it, which never happened because they were having way too much fun goofing around. Here they are with Beary (Kylie's bear) and Pickle Peckle (Connor's elephant):

We tie-dyed shirts this afternoon...but I'll post pics of those tomorrow. Right now I'm gonna go help Michael get the kids into bed and maybe go have a beer. :-)

Congrats on the ribbons! The photos are great! Congrats on the job! MACRO LENSES ROCK.... I love mine. A LOT. Weighs more than the camera tho....
