Pretty Eggs

We colored eggs and they're ready for the Easter Bunny to come hide all of them! Hopefully it'll be warm tomorrow so we can hunt eggs outside! The kids have been bugging us for days asking when Easter is coming...so they can "get lots of candy from the Easter bunny!"
More tomorrow! :-)

Down on the Farm

Mom and I took the kids to the new park in Springfield: Rutledge-Wilson Farm. It was soooo windy, but we had fun anyway! Kylie and Connor were so excited to see the pigs, horses, goats, sheep and calves...but I think their favorite animals were the barn kittens, Rutledge and Wilson. They're the most spoiled barn cats I've ever seen...I'm sure they don't know how to hunt at all! They sure were cute though!!

This is Wilson:
This is Rutledge:
You can check out more pictures from our visit to the farm here:

After we got home, Connor challenged Honey to a game of Hi Ho Cherry-O. I'm sure he beat her fair and square every time! He even had his stuffed rhino and koala playing...and they didn't cheat at all!!
Does the moon look like this where you are tonight?

Rain and other stuff

We’ve been on Spring Break for the past few days…and it’s been raining! I’m sure you heard that the midwest was soaked earlier this week. We had constant rain from Monday night to Wednesday morning. And not just a nice light rain either. We’re talking thunder storms and (to quote Forrest Gump) big, fat rain. Roads were flooded, houses were flooded…it was a mess! Thank goodness we didn’t have to go anywhere! And thank goodness we live on the top of a hill!!

Before the rain started on Monday evening, the kids and I went outside to ride bikes and mess around. I’m happy to report that my daffodils are blooming!

Love these kiddos!!

Some other random stuff…
~Michael’s finally home from Arkansas and so far there aren't any plans for him to go back down there!! YAY!!!

~I wish we had a DSL line or at least cable internet cuz it takes forever to upload photos here! Satellite’s not all it’s cracked up to be!!

~Found this on Kylie’s door the other day:

Funny. She’ll happily let Connor do her bidding, but doesn’t want him “making a mess” in her room (which is always messy anyway!!)

~Geordie curled up on Kylie’s bed:

~Poor Connor's got a cold and is coughing like crazy. Took him to the doctor yesterday and got some meds to help him sleep. Funny thing was, when we were leaving, C had a fit because he wanted to stay with Dr. T. He was crying and falling down on the floor. I was just laughing and so was everyone else in the office. I guess it's a good thing both kids love their pediatrician! Oh, and Connor's feeling much better today! Except he's still coughing...UGH!

Ok, so I think that's it for now. Michael's working 1/2 day today and my mom's gonna be here today too! I'm hoping the weather holds up so we can either go to the zoo or Rutledge-Wilson Farm and see the animals!!

Is it really spring?

Could it really be here? Could spring actually be rearing it’s head?? Could winter be behind us?? The past few days have been warmer (like in the 60's and 70's!!) and my daffodils are ready to bloom. I know I shouldn’t get my hopes up too high…it’s only March after all and I’m sure we’ll have another snow and/or ice event before spring is really here to stay. The past couple of evenings we've stayed outside and just played. Kids rode their bikes and drew chalk pictures on the driveway. Fun!!

I don’t know about you, but the time change last weekend really messed us all up. It seems like everything’s completely outta whack! The good thing is that now we can stay outside longer in the evenings. The bad thing is when I tell the kids it’s time to get ready for bed I’m met with: “But it’s not night yet!”

Next week Kylie and Connor are on spring break! Yay! We can sleep in (well, as much as C will let us!) and stay in our pjs all day if we wanna!

I know I told everyone I’d be posting here more often just to keep you all up to date with what we’ve been doing. Sorry about being a slacker!! I’ll try to do better!!

I'll leave you with this...and don't forget to watch "Survivor" tonight!!

Last night on American Idol...

I'm probably the only one who even noticed this, but it really bugs me!! Last night Michael Johns finished singing "Don't Forget About Me" and Randy basically said he thought it was cool how Michael went home (meaning Australia) and rocked the song. Randy continued to say that he loves Michael Hutchence and INXS. (For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about...hi Dad!!...INXS is a band from Australia and Michael Hutchence was their lead singer).

Hello?? That song was by Simple Minds who are from Scotland...not Australia. Michael Hutchence was never a member of Simple Minds...UGH!! I think it bugs me so much because I love INXS!!!!!

Ok, done venting for now. I know noone's reading this thing anyway so I guess it's kinda like talking to myself! LOL!

Another snow day!

These shots are from yesterday...Kylie modeling Michael's mowing hat and Connor sound asleep in the middle of the livingroom floor. Cute huh?

The news said Springfield got 8 inches of snow last night and this morning! We got maybe an inch if that. But, because it was snow on top of sleet, school was cancelled again. At this rate the kiddos will be in school all summer since the powers that be keep pushing back the last day of school to make up for all these darn snow days!

I guess it's good Kylie didn't have school today because it gave her an extra day to get over whatever she had that caused her to have a fever on Sun. and Mon. She's back to her good old crazy self today!!

On another note, if anyone's even reading this...if you know how to insert a picture into the text of a post instead of at the top of a post would ya please lemme know?? I'd sure appreciate that!! I've looked all over but can't figure it out. I know I'm missing something because I know other people somehow manage to do it...

Well, I guess that's it for now. I'm off to do some scrapping before I go to bed! OH! And I've gotta watch Idol...good thing I taped it!

Here we go...

Ok, so I've finally done it! I've started a blog! I know, I know... welcome to the 21st century. I guess we'll see how this all pans out. Just wanted a place where family and friends can keep up with our life in Missouri.

I'm still trying to figure out what the heck I'm doing, but enjoy these shots of the kids. They're my current faves of them because they show off those amazing personalities!
