It's really weird Kylie started school today. It's only August 15th, people!! I'd say the summer went by so quickly, but really since it's still summer, I guess I should say summer vacation went by so quickly. Anyway...here are some photos for you...Kylie with her new teacher, Mrs. Baker. This was taken yesterday at "meet the teacher" night...
This morning...
New Kung Fu Panda backpack...
Walking to her new room with Connor in tow...
At her desk...
Apparently the first day of first grade went great. It helped that 4 of the kids from Kylie's kindergarten class are in her class this year.
After we dropped K off, Connor and I went to Sonic...
and then we went to visit the neighbors' new puppy Kira (who looks a lot like Gypsy when she was a puppy!)...
This afternoon I went back up to Nathanael Greene Park in Springfield just to shoot some photos. Nothing too exciting except for the 3 monarchs I saw flittering around.
Some flower buds that I liked because they're swirly...
Male monarch on blazing star...
I love color coordination!!! Yellow clouded sulphur on an orange flower who's name escapes me...what the hell is it?????
I've never seen a brown praying mantis before...
Mexican Sunflower...
I just watched Michael Phelps win his 7th gold medal in this olympics. So very exciting!! If I could find a photo online somewhere I'd post it here, but there's nothing up so far. Probably tomorrow. And I don't know about you, but I got teary-eyed while watching the medal ceremony. And how cool was it our women went 1-2 in the gymnastics all around?! YAY for US!
Tomorrow we're having Kylie's birthday party at the Ted E. Bear Factory in Springfield. Should be lots of fun and I'll definitely post some photos of that big event!!
Now I've gotta go get the future paleantologist into bed. She's wide awake down here with me telling me all about dinosaurs. More stuff tomorrow! :-)
